In Nova Scotia, fall is the most beautiful season. The deciduous trees don leaves of every shade of orange, yellow and red. If you want a collage, look outside, assuming you can see some ‘greenery’, and it’s a delight of colour and texture.
Fall is especially beautiful to me because it’s a little sad. Winter is coming and a Canadian winter is brutal. The flowers are withering and the trees will soon be bare. In this moment the view is brilliant and tomorrow it might be on the ground.
I tried to preserve that precarious moment outside before the leaf falls. I collaged bits of gold leaf, aged photography, metallic paint and those intense oranges. Nothing does it better than nature, but here’s to fall.
